Laurie was so knowledgable and friendly, he really loves and cares for his birds. Holding the birds and seeing them in such detail, was just incredible. Laurie has such a passion and his knowledge is fantastic. He clearly cares so much for these birds and it’s obvious they have total trust in him. We booked the VIP experience which last about 90 minutes and you get to interact with the birds and also have some of them fly to you. Star of the show in our opinion was Dennis, what a character. The stories about him are hilarious. Would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone.Verified One of the best ways to experience birds of prey up close and personal Having loved birds of prey for many years my wife bought me a voucher for Surrey Hills Falconry. What fantastic time we had. The experience lasted about 90 minutes where were introduced to the birds and were taught so many interesting facts about them as well as their personalities. We held a number of birds on the glove and we flew 3 birds during the visit. My wife and I were the only people there so it felt like a really special experience which is the way Laurie (the falconer) likes to keep it. Laurie was fascinating and you could see just how much he cares for his birds. If you are a bird lover or are just looking for a really fun experience I would highly recommend going, the surroundings are beautiful and you will not be disappointed. From the start it was very clear that Laurie is an experienced and knowledgeable falconer and passionate about his bird family. He was happy to answer our questions and share his stories of life with his birds . It was such a treat to have the birds perch on a glove & see them so close and fly them with supervision from Laurie. My husband has wanted to do a falconry experience for a long time and I have to say we both felt our time with Laurie and his birds exceeded our expectations. Laurie is well experienced and very knowledgeable in falconry it was great to learn about his flock of well trained birds and to have a great experience handling each bird and to learn about each breed. The facility is very well spaced out and situated away from road noise so no chance of the birds being stressed from traffic or passers-by. Laurie is friendly, passionate about his birds and very informative. He is and very happy to answer a great number of questions about his birds and falconry. each of us experienced the five different birds of prey sitting on the falconry gloves Laurie provided, and then he flew them landing on our gloved hands.
